Joel is a passionate believer in the power of high-tech, high-touch communications, creating connect-the-dot stories and strategies that bridge understanding and engage audiences.

(Not counting ages 2 to 20) Joel has spent millions of minutes (20+ years) actively engaged in a variety of communications roles and functions.  After working in the corporate and agency worlds he knew there was a better way and founded DCPR in 2003 to give clients:

» The “A” team on their account…no entry level representation, no hand-holding, and no excuses.

» Strategy and implementation together, not one or the other

» A single point of contact and accountability

 Joel has consulted and worked with dozens of companies and– from startups to the publicly traded – from product launch to strategic counsel.

 Prior to founding DCPR, Joel was Director of Public Relations at an integrated agency named the #1 High-Tech PR Agency in the Washington Area by PR Week and the Council of PR Agencies. There he led award-winning PR and branding campaigns for a variety of technology and other companies.

 His previous affiliations include RMR & Associates, Struever Bros Eccles & Rouse, Oncor International, Johns Hopkins University and the University of Maryland Medical System.

 A member of the National Press Club, Joel regularly speaks and writes on communications trends and issues, He contributes his time and expertise volunteering with military veteran, animal welfare, homelessness, and environmental organizations.

 Joel holds a M.A.S. (Management and Marketing), and a B.A. (Social and Behavioral Sciences and Public Health) all from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.
